Our Second Fall was spent liquidating our Antique Mall Booths in a series of garage sales in which several neighbors and friends pitched in - and getting the sitting room and upstairs bedroom into shape for Thanksgiving visitors.
Our Third Fall Already? It's been a long dry summer but perfect for tomatoes and roses!

Early Fall

November 3rd, the day before Benny's birthday ... we've had a few frosts but no real cold weather. Spent most of the day cleaning house. I hung my sheets out on the line for perhaps the last time this year The cardinal is back attacking our window. Cute little booger! Benny and Ed worked on the pole barn skylight, cleaned the gutters, and did some tree trimming when Ed noticed several of the tomatoes hadn't been frost bit. Picking big juicy red ripe tomatoes in November in Indiana - whoever heard of such a thing! The roses and coneflowers are still going strong - And I found a wild violet in bloom!

The Friday before Thanksgiving the electricity went off at work (and most of downtown). My office has no windows and I was working on a computer problem. So I headed home to see if I had electricity there. The colors were so beautiful in spite of the drought I couldn't resist taking a few pictures ...

Picture taken of a hummingbird feeding at the Candy Corn Vine outside my kitchen picture window. The vine came from Meijers - it has grown very long and it's a prolific bloomer.

Another pretty sunset off the pole barn - the sun sets in that part of the sky this time of year and the crescent moon is in the uuper right hand corner

Last years Walmart mums blooming around the windmill. Last year Walmart was selling these little pots of mums for around $2.00, so I planted a few around the windmill!

This spider looks like he's ready for Halloween, mask and all. He was hanging out (literally) in the center of the windmill amidst the mums. Blends in perfectly with the yellow mums!
