Guest of Honor

Cyclamen in rebloom - I bought this guy last winter and it not only survived, it thrived! I think it likes coffee grounds. The poinsetta sat in this window during the holidays.

Salmon and Pink Poinsetta - found this at the Rural King Farm Store for $5.00 and couldn't resist

Poinsetta Close-up

Continued my tradition of letting Mother Nature pick my bouquets - only now it's evergreen branches instead of flowers!

Evergreen and Poinsetta bouquet- one of the Poinsetta branches was half separated when I bought the plant - I stuck it in water with a little sugar and root hormone and it has lasted a couple of weeks!

My Winter Kitchen - Took all the leaves out of our new harvest table that a colleague gave Benny and wow, do we have room in the kitchen! Notice the bench along the window - my daughter's idea and Benny's Christmas gift to me. :)

My Winter Kitchen - finally got the Christmas things down and put away - well at least moved to the garage.

My Winter Kitchen - January - the Cyclamen has been blooming like crazy all through the holidays. I think it likes the coffee grounds, as a friend suggested.

Claude and Helen's Hall Secretary

Claude and Helen's Hall Secretary - my Aunt Claudine let me have this cute little piece that used to stand in my grandparent's hallway.

Claude and Helen's Hall Book Case - my Aunt Claudine let me have this cute little piece that used to stand in my grandparent's hallway. I set the treadmill that was in this corner up after New Year's. I may never put it back!

... Leads to some re-arranging. Aunt Firma's painting over the buffet moves here.

And her painting of Archie Foxworthy's Sugar Camp moves from the back porch to the dining room..

Side view

So her painting already in the dining room moves by the bookcase.

Shrinking the harvest table back down to size - now we wish we'd made two shorter benches to go along the picture window instead of one long one.

Squeakers and Bonnie

Our back porch not so dressed up. We've been blessed with a bumper crop of stray kitties this winter- not sure where they all came from - but whoever's doing it I wish they would stop. It's keeping us busy rescuing, them and getting them shots, spayed, and neutered - which I have time to do because I'm unemployed, but I'm also a bit short on funds!

Another $1.99 Goodwill find - this little sleigh made a good hook for Benny's caps - after I put a hanger on it!

Even in the depths of winter, Mother Nature is still giving me bouquets from the yard.

A quick stop at Good Will on a snowy February day netted me this beautiful metal bowl shaped like a shell - not bad for $4.99 - and less calories than a Frosty-cino and fries from Wendy's (yum).

Okay, not the greatest, but here's a few shots stolen with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ35 - inbetween doing the taxes. I still need to study the manuals.
